Fried honeydew melon breaded with walnuts

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 honeydew melon(s)
  • 100 g walnuts
  • 1 egg(s)
  • some honey
  • Oil for frying, e.g. peanut oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 6 minutes; Total time approx. 26 minutes

First, halve the honeydew melon, remove the seeds with a spoon, and cut the melon into wedges. Then, either chop the walnuts in a blender or use pre-chopped walnuts. Place these on a plate and whisk the egg on a second plate. Dip the melon slices first in the egg, then in the walnuts. Heat oil (for example, peanut oil) in a pan. The oil is at the right temperature when you can feel the heat when you hold your hand about 10 cm above the pan. Fry the melon slices for about 3 minutes on each side. Finally, drizzle with honey and serve on plates. A scoop of vanilla ice cream goes very well with each plate.
