Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 2 eggs
- 50 ml water
- 1 ½ cups breadcrumbs
- n. B. Mixed herbs (e.g. oregano, basil, parsley), dried
- ½ tsp garlic salt
- 100 g flour
- some cornstarch
- Oil for frying
- 3 balls of mozzarella, in brine
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 minutes; Total time approx. 32 minutes
Mix the eggs and water in one bowl. In a second bowl, combine the breadcrumbs with the herbs and garlic salt. In a third, combine the flour and cornstarch. Dry the cheese thoroughly and cut into thick sticks. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to approximately 190°C. Coat the cheese first in the egg mixture, then in the breadcrumbs, and finally in a little flour. Then, deep-fry for approximately 30 seconds. Serve with a tomato dip.
