Fried provolone

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g provolone
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • some chili pepper(s) or pepper
  • some olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cut the provolone, without the rind, into slices about 5 mm thick. Do not make them any thinner, as the cheese will melt during frying and will then be difficult to turn. The slices should also not be too small, as this will also make turning difficult. Chop the chili peppers and garlic clove, lightly press the garlic pieces with a knife, and heat them in olive oil until golden brown, then remove from the oil. Now fry the cheese slices in the oil for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the cheese from the pan before it melts too much and let it drain on kitchen paper. Two turns are usually sufficient. Then cut the cheese slices into bite-sized pieces and serve with bread, rosé wine, and other Italian delicacies.
