Fried rice balls

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 onion(s)
  • 40 g butter
  • 1 cup rice pudding
  • 4 tbsp white wine, dry
  • 500 ml chicken broth
  • 100 g cheese (medium-aged Gouda)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Fat for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour

Peel and finely chop the onion, and fry it in butter until translucent. Sauté the rice until translucent. Deglaze with white wine and stock. Simmer over low heat (important!), stirring frequently, until the rice is cooked; the stock must be completely absorbed. Allow to cool completely. Grate the Gouda cheese and mix it with the egg into the rice. With wet hands (otherwise, everything will stick to your fingers), form balls and roll them in breadcrumbs. Deep-fry in hot oil.
