Fried rice with peas

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 200 g basmati
  • 150 g peas, small from the frozen
  • 6 dl water
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 red chili pepper(s)
  • 2 eggs
  • salt and pepper
  • some oil (peanut oil)

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Deseed the chili pepper and slice into thin rings. Rinse the rice under running water until the water runs clear. Drain well. Bring the rice to a boil, then cover and let it swell on the turned-off heat for about 15 minutes. Briefly toast the sesame seeds without fat and set aside. Fluff the rice with a fork. Heat the oil, fry the rice for about 3 minutes, then add the well-beaten eggs, chili, and peas, season, and fry for about 5 minutes more. Finally, sprinkle the sesame seeds over the rice.
