Fruit bread with apples

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 kg apples, peeled and chopped
  • 250 g sugar
  • 250 g fig(s)
  • 200 g hazelnuts
  • 200 g almonds
  • 200 g raisins
  • 500 g flour or spelt flour
  • 1 ½ packets of baking powder
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp clove(s), ground
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp rum
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice, for glaze
  • Water, warm

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Total time approx. 12 hours 20 minutes

Soak the apples with 250g of sugar overnight. Chop the figs, hazelnuts, and almonds and soak them in a little water. The next day, combine everything and form two loaves. Bake for about 45-50 minutes at 180°C. Cover with a powdered sugar and lemon juice glaze.
