Garlic Soup with Filler

The perfect garlic soup with filler recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Garlic soup:

  • 2,5 liter Broth from pork knuckle *) (See my recipe:)
  • 8 Garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp Whole caraway seeds
  • 2 tsp Rubbed marjoram
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Clear broth instant

Insert: **) (For 2 people)

  • 2 Discs Farmers bread
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp Butter

Garlic soup with garnish:

  1. Pour the pork knuckle stock (2.5 liters) through a fine sieve and heat. Peel the garlic cloves and press them into the hot broth with the garlic press. Whole caraway seeds (2 teaspoons), grated marjoram (2 teaspoons), salt (2 teaspoons) and instant clear broth (1 teaspoon) and cook for about 5-7 minutes. Cut bread into cubes and fry / roast in a pan with oil (2 tbsp) and butter (1 tbsp). Serve hot garlic soup with toasted bread cubes.

Hints:

  1. *) Alternatively: take beef soup (e.g. boil from boiled beef) or beef broth from instant broth. **) Alternatively or also: add potato cubes, small diced smoked meat, pieces of sausage or stirred eggs. ***) The garlic soup is also very suitable for freezing.
