Ingredients for 16 servings:
- 500 g flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp ground ginger
- 250 g brown cane sugar
- 150 g butter
- 375 g beet syrup
- 250 ml milk
- 1 egg(s)
- Fat, for the shape
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Ginger cake
Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ginger. Stir in the sugar, butter, and syrup. Heat gently, but do not overheat. Heat the milk slightly, stir in the egg, and mix with the flour mixture. Then add the butter and syrup mixture and stir in. Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake for about 70 minutes at 170°C. At the end of the baking time, test with a wooden skewer for doneness. Let the cake cool in the pan and then turn it out.
