Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 375 ml water
  • 650 g sugar
  • 4 pieces ginger root, dried
  • 2,000 g pear(s), for preserving
  • Preserving aid

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Combine water and sugar and simmer for 20 minutes. Skim off the skim. Add ginger. Add peeled pears and simmer until soft. Remove pears and transfer to jars. Reduce broth and pour over pears. The pears should be covered. Use the preserving aid as directed. Seal jars and store in a cool place. The pears are delicious with vanilla ice cream or smoked pork and roast pork.
