unusual Christmas cookies for adults

Knead the butter, egg, sugar, vanilla, flour, and cocoa powder with a food processor until smooth. Roll out the dough with a little flour and cut out stars. Place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake at 150°C for 10-15 minutes. Because the cookie dough is black, you’ll need to check the cookies’ doneness frequently with your finger. After baking, let them cool. Knead the marzipan mixture with the powdered sugar and roll out on a powdered sugar sheet to a thickness of about 2 mm. Cut out stars as well. Cut a hole in the center of the marzipan stars. Spread the cookies with ginger jam and place a marzipan star on top. Let the cookies dry overnight. Melt the chocolate coating and dip the stars. Decorate with a small piece of candied ginger. This is certainly not our children’s favorite pastry, but it’s the men’s favorite for the Christmas plate. A real eye-catcher, too. If you don’t like ginger, you can substitute it with pineapple. This will make the pastry sweeter and more luscious.
