Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Gnocchi in spicy tomato sauce

Sauté the onions and garlic in 1 teaspoon of olive oil, add the tomatoes, then add the spices: salt, chopped chili pepper, rosemary, sugar, a dash of chili sauce, a dash of lemon juice, and a little harissa. A splash of good Italian red wine never hurts (in the dish and for the cook), then cover and simmer the sauce for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. In the meantime, preheat the oven to 200°C (fan). Pour the finished sauce into a baking dish, mix in the gnocchi and diced mozzarella, cover, and place the dish in the oven for about 15 minutes. Turn off the oven and leave the dish uncovered in the oven for another 10 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh basil leaves to serve.
