Tomatoes in warm feta cheese

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 300 g sheep cheese (Turkish shepherd’s cheese GAZi) or feta
  • 6 small tomatoes
  • ½ onion(s)
  • some basil, some leaves

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

A quick recipe for a starter or snack. Cut the cheese into roughly 5 mm thin slices and layer half of them in a baking dish. Thinly slice the tomatoes and onion and top the cheese with them. Cover with the remaining cheese and bake in the oven at 160°C until the cheese has melted slightly and has a creamy consistency. Garnish with basil and enjoy! Whole-wheat rolls go perfectly with this. Because of the high salt content of the cheese, I don’t think any seasoning is needed. If you’re in a hurry, it works really well in the microwave, too!
