Gnocchi in paprika cream sauce

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 500 g gnocchi
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 bell peppers, red
  • 5 cherry tomatoes
  • 1 cup of cream, approx. 200 g
  • 2 tbsp, heaped cream cheese
  • possibly water or broth
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder, sweet
  • basil
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Dice the onion and bell pepper, halve the tomatoes. Sauté the diced onion in a pan with a little oil until translucent, add tomato paste. Add the diced bell pepper and fry. Meanwhile, cook the gnocchi in salted water according to the package instructions. Add the tomatoes to the pan and sauté everything briefly. Add the cream and stir in the cream cheese. If you want the sauce to be thinner, add a little water (you can also use stock, depending on your taste). Season with salt, pepper, and paprika, add the cooked gnocchi, and let everything simmer for a short time. Finally, add the fresh basil.
