Goulash soup

Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 1 kg onion(s), diced
  • 1 kg beef goulash (veal leg)
  • 6 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp caraway seeds
  • 5 tbsp paprika powder, sweet
  • 1 can white beans
  • 1 can beans, red
  • 3 carrots, small cubes
  • ¾ kg potatoes, peeled and diced small 0.5 cm
  • 12 hot peppers, 1 cm rings, drained
  • 6 tbsp flour

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Fry the onion in oil, then add the meat and a little water, and sauté until soft. Now add the paprika, potatoes, and carrots, then add water. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 10 minutes. Then add the rinsed and drained beans in a colander along with the chili peppers and just enough boiling water to make a soup. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes. Finally, stir the flour and water until creamy and smooth, without any lumps, and add just enough to make a creamy soup. Serve with fresh bread, preferably crusty farmhouse bread, a baguette, or simply rolls.
