Potato and white cheese casserole

Brown the potatoes in a pan with the onions and smoked meat. Season with salt and pepper to taste. The potatoes should only be lightly cooked. Cut the cheese into slices about 3-5 cm long and about 1 cm thick. Place the fried potatoes, onions, and smoked meat in an ovenproof dish, spread with the crème fraîche, and top with the cheese pieces. Bake in the oven at 180°C for 30-40 minutes. Variation: Instead of using smoked meat cubes, try using about 400 g of mixed, cooked minced meat.
