Grandma's baked rice

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • ½ liter of milk
  • 125 g rice pudding
  • 3 eggs
  • 50 g butter
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • ½ pack of pudding powder (vanilla flavor)
  • 2 drops of bitter almond flavor
  • 4 drops of flavoring (lemon flavor)
  • 1 tsp, leveled baking powder
  • 2 tbsp almond(s), chopped or almond sticks
  • 3 tbsp raisins
  • some rum
  • 3 apples
  • Butter for the mold
  • Breadcrumbs for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Prepare the rice pudding according to the package instructions, adding a pinch of salt to the milk, and then let it cool. Soak the raisins in a little rum. Separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites until stiff, then add the yolks directly to the rice pudding. Peel and finely grate the apples. Mix all ingredients thoroughly except the egg whites. Then carefully fold in the egg whites. Grease a baking dish with butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Pour the rice pudding into the baking dish and sprinkle with some breadcrumbs and butter flakes. Bake at approximately 180°C for 45 minutes.
