Grandma's cough syrup from childhood

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 large onions
  • 250 g rock sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 8 hours; Total time approx. 8 hours 10 minutes

Peel the onions and chop them into pieces. Alternate onions and rock sugar in a jar, screw the lid on, and let stand overnight. The next day, filter the juice, discard the onion, and bottle it. Take a tablespoon several times a day. The onion juice also works well with red onion and wild honey, or white onion and about 150g of cane sugar. This homemade cough syrup eases coughing and thus promotes and supports the body’s rapid recovery.
