Grandma's garlic mashed potatoes

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g potatoes
  • 2 tbsp, heaped marjoram
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 100 g butter
  • 100 ml cream or milk
  • nutmeg
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel the potatoes and boil for about 20 minutes, until tender. Meanwhile, combine about 1 heaped tablespoon of salt, the butter, marjoram, and the crushed garlic cloves in a bowl. Drain the cooked, hot potatoes well and add them to the bowl. Then mash everything with a potato masher. Gradually add milk or cream until the mash is smooth. Season with salt and nutmeg to taste.
