Grandma's rusk dumplings

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 125 g rusks
  • 3 eggs
  • 100 g butter, melted, warm
  • nutmeg
  • Salt
  • 1 liter meat broth or vegetable broth

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Place the rusks in a plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin. Crack the eggs in a bowl with a fork and add the nutmeg and salt. Add the melted butter and eggs to the rusks and mix everything with a fork, then form them into small dumplings. Add them to the hot soup and bring to a boil.
