Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 4 horse roulade(s)
- 1 onion(s)
- 100 g ham (belly ham)
- Mustard
- 4 gherkins
- salt and pepper
- 1 liter sauce (gravy)
- oil
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
First, season the horse roulades with salt and pepper on both sides. Then spread mustard on one side. Distribute the onions and ham evenly on top. Quarter the gherkins and distribute them evenly on the roulades. Then roll them up and secure them with toothpicks or string. Fry them in a pan with oil over high heat until brown and crispy on all sides. Add the gravy and simmer in the covered pan over medium heat for about 1 hour. Serve with red cabbage, dumplings, and salad. Since horse meat is low in fat and particularly nutritious, I highly recommend it for a low-fat diet.
