Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 125 g puffed rice, unsweetened
  • 50 g oat flakes
  • 150 g walnuts
  • 150 g nuts, other, and/or almonds, cashews, pistachios, chia seeds, sesame
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 40 g oil
  • 200 g maple syrup

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

homemade muesli with puffed rice

In a bowl, combine the puffed rice, oats, chopped nuts, and salt. Add the oil and maple syrup and mix well. Important: The measurements are in grams, not milliliters! Spread the muesli on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 45 minutes at 160°C (320°F) top and bottom heat, stirring every 10-15 minutes to ensure even baking. The muesli will become even crispier as it cools! Finally, let everything cool completely on the baking sheet and store in a container. Notes and tips: You can choose the nuts you like; these are just my preferences. The nuts can also be chopped to different sizes as desired. The puffed rice makes it much fluffier/poppier than typical granola, which I personally prefer and reminds me of healthy nut snacks. Puffed rice can be found at health food stores, among other places.
