Gratinated white cabbage

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 small white cabbage (approx. 600 g)
  • 2 tbsp vinegar (apple cider vinegar)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • n. B. Cheese (Emmental), grated
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 sprigs of parsley
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Wash the white cabbage thoroughly. Then quarter it and cook it in a pot with water, the bay leaves, the apple cider vinegar, and a pinch of salt for about 30 minutes. Heat the oil in a pan, add the breadcrumbs, and cook over low heat, stirring constantly. Add 1/2 cup of the cabbage broth and continue stirring. Remove the quartered cabbage from the water and place it in a baking dish. Spread the breadcrumb mixture over it and sprinkle with Emmental cheese, if desired. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 5 minutes. Decorate with parsley and serve.
