Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg green beans
  • 2 sprigs of savory (small twigs)
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 6 tbsp vinegar
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 6 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp salt
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 18 minutes; Total time approx. 43 minutes

Wash, trim, and finely chop the beans. Cook the beans in boiling salted water with the savory for about 12-18 minutes. The beans should not become too soft. In the meantime, prepare a marinade with the finely chopped onions, vinegar, oil, sugar, salt, and pepper. Strain the hot beans and mix with the marinade. Then cover the salad and refrigerate overnight.
