Green beans in bacon sauce

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 300 g green beans, young, frozen
  • 250 ml water (bean cooking water)
  • 1 sprig(s) savory, fresh, or 1/4 tsp dried
  • 40 g bacon, fat
  • 1 small onion(s), white
  • 20 g wheat flour
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Prepare the green beans with the fresh or dried savory and salt according to the package instructions. Drain the beans in a sieve, reserving the vegetable water and measuring out 250 ml of it. Set aside. Dice the bacon and fry. Peel and dice the onion, then sauté in the fried bacon until golden brown. Sprinkle the flour over the beans, whisk in the reserved vegetable water, and bring to a boil. Season the bacon sauce with pepper and salt and mix with the beans.
