Green beans in tomato sauce, Lebanese

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 700 g beans, green, flat and broad
  • 1 large can of tomatoes, peeled
  • 1 medium onion(s), peeled and finely chopped
  • 8 garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped
  • 5 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Wash the beans, trim the ends, and remove any strings. Then cut the beans into approximately 2 cm long pieces. Heat the olive oil in a large pan or saucepan and fry the onions and garlic cloves until golden brown. Add the beans, season with salt, and fry for a few minutes, stirring, until they shine and turn a lighter green. Add the drained, peeled tomatoes, season with salt, and mix everything well. Cover and simmer on low heat for approximately 40 minutes, until the tomato sauce has thickened. Season to taste and serve with Arabic bread. Can also be eaten cold.
