Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 250 g green spelt, ground
- 500 g water
- 1 onion(s), sautéed
- 1 egg(s)
- vegetable broth
- Salt
- pepper
- nutmeg
- marjoram
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Bring the spelt flour to a boil with water, turn off the heat or reduce the heat to low, and cook until it forms a thick paste. Then let it cool (lukewarm), add the egg and spices, and mix well. Form dumplings into a pot of simmering vegetable broth. Let the dumplings simmer in the broth for 10-15 minutes (depending on their size); do not boil. This goes very well with spicy vegetables, sauerkraut, or a delicious vegetable sauce.
