Grill The Peppers – That’s How it Works

Spread the love

Prepare peppers for grilling

  • Wash the peppers thoroughly.
  • Then cut the peppers in half.
  • Remove stems, seeds, and septa.

That’s how long the peppers have to be on the grill

  • The grilling time results from the height of the temperature.
  • Peppers burn quickly. The hotter your grill, the shorter the dwell time for the vegetables should be.
  • If the temperature is particularly high, it is sufficient to grill the peppers for about 2 minutes on each side.
  • Over medium-high heat, let the halves cook for up to 12 minutes.
  • Here, however, your personal taste also decides: If you prefer it crispy, leave the vegetables on the grill for a shorter time.
  • If you do burn the bowl, that’s no problem. Peel them off with a knife.
  • Tip: If you are in a hurry, you should choose pointed peppers. These are thinner and cook faster accordingly.

Grilling methods for peppers

  • Brush the peppers with a little oil and add herbs if desired. Thyme, rosemary, oregano or sage are particularly suitable.
  • Then wrap the peppers in aluminum foil and place them on the grill for up to 12 minutes.
  • Skewer the peppers, onions, and meat on a soaked wooden skewer. It is best to use pointed peppers instead of the normal sweet peppers. In this way you avoid that the onions and meat are already done while the peppers take a little longer to cook.
  • Serve a delicious homemade yogurt dip with the skewers.
