Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 4 medium-sized onions, peeled
- 4 pinch(s) salt, fleur de sel
- 4 pinch(s) black pepper, freshly ground
- 4 tsp honey
- some oil, neutral, or butter
- some parsley, flat, finely chopped
Instructions

delicious grilled side dish for beef steaks etc.
Slice the peeled onions slightly evenly along the root side (small surface area). From the opposite side (from the top), make three deep cuts with a knife (approx. 3/4 of the onion), not cutting all the way through. The onion should only be divided (into eighths) so that it absorbs the seasoning better and cooks faster. Prepare a piece of aluminum foil of the appropriate size (width = length) for each onion. Place oil or butter in the center of the foil and place the sliced onion on it. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper and drizzle with a teaspoon of honey. Sprinkle with a little chopped flat-leaf parsley, if desired. Now fold the aluminum foil upwards and wrap it like candy. Place the wrapped onions slightly towards the edge of the grill and cook and braise slowly (approx. 30 min.). When they can be squeezed together, the onions are done.
