Grilled herring on grilled apple

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 herring fillets (double fillets)
  • 2 m.-sized apples (Braeburn)
  • 1 lemon(s)
  • e.g. sunflower oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cut the apples into approximately 1 cm thick slices and generously core them. Quarter the lemon and brush the lemon juice all over the apple slices. Grease a grill pan with sunflower oil and heat it up. Grill the apple slices on both sides until they are nicely seared. Arrange the grilled apple slices on 4 plates. Briefly grill the herring fillets in the same grill pan and arrange them on top of the apple slices. Arrange and serve.
