Grilled marinated soy big steaks

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 slices of meat substitute (Soy Big Steaks, e.g., from Vantastic Food)
  • 1 ½ liters vegetable broth, strong
  • 250 ml tomato ketchup
  • 250 ml BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp salt and pepper
  • 1 tbsp paprika powder
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp steak seasoning
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 ½ tbsp liquid smoke
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 8 minutes; Total time approx. 38 minutes

Soak the Soja Big Steaks in a saucepan in the strong vegetable broth and let stand for 15 minutes. They need to be completely soaked. Stirring or turning them occasionally helps. Meanwhile, prepare the marinade. Mix all the marinade ingredients together and season with salt and pepper. If necessary and according to taste, the mixture can be adjusted. After soaking, squeeze the liquid out of the steaks. To do this, simply place the steaks between two wooden boards and squeeze the liquid out. Then place the steaks in the marinade. Please ensure that they are completely and thoroughly coated. Let the steaks stand in the marinade for at least 30 minutes. Longer is also no problem; the longer the marinade, the more intense the flavor. You can store them covered in the refrigerator. Finally, fry the steaks on the grill or in a pan with oil for about 8 minutes. Serve with French fries, baked potatoes, and/or any kind of salad.
