Grilled prairie steaks

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 steak(s) (fillet steaks), 200 g each
  • 8 slices of bacon (breakfast bacon)
  • 500 g beans (baked beans)
  • 6 tbsp whiskey
  • ½ tsp smoked salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper, coarsely ground
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp marjoram
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 4 tsp oil
  • 1 lemon(s), grated peel only

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Combine the bourbon whiskey with smoked salt, 0.5 teaspoon pepper, grated lemon zest, and sugar. Gently pound the steaks with the heel of your hand. Place them in the marinade and let them marinate for 30 minutes. Heat the beans with marjoram, the remaining black pepper, salt, and water. Remove the steaks from the marinade, pat dry, lightly oil, and grill on the grill for 3-4 minutes on each side. Briefly fry the bacon on the grill until crispy. Serve the steaks with the beans and cooked bacon.
