Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 16 sausages (Nuremberg bratwurst), approx. 600 g
- 30 g butter
- 500 ml beer, dark
- 2 tsp sugar
- 4 tbsp sour cream
- 2 tbsp chives, cut into rolls
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 large onion(s), cut into rings
- Salt
- Black pepper, freshly ground
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes
Blanch the bratwursts in boiling water, remove them, and pat them dry with kitchen towels. Heat the butter in a pan and fry the sausages until browned. Add the bay leaf, onion rings, beer, salt, and pepper, and simmer over low heat for about 15-20 minutes. Refine the sauce with sour cream and chives, and adjust the seasoning if desired.
