Gyros Shashlik
The perfect gyros shashlik recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 4 Baked potatoes, approx. 300 g each
- 4 tbsp Olive oil
- Coarse sea salt
- 700 g Pork neck chop
- 4 Onions
- Gyros spice
- Salt, pepper
- 200 g Zaziki
- 12 Wooden skewers
- Place the wooden skewers in cold water for about 20-30 minutes.
- Place the potatoes on a baking tray lined with baking paper, sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of oil, sprinkle with sea salt and cook in a preheated oven (175 ° C, fan oven: 150 ° C) for 60 minutes.
- Wash the meat and cut into pieces. Peel the onions and cut into wedges. Put both on skewers alternately, season with gyros spice and salt. Brush the skewers with a little oil. Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a non-stick pan and fry the skewers for about 3 minutes. About 10 minutes before the end of the cooking time of the potatoes, place the skewers on the tray in the oven.
- Cut the potatoes to the middle and spread the tzatziki on top, sprinkle with pepper.
