Gyros stew

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g pork
  • n. B. Spice mix for gyros (for 500 g meat)
  • 1 liter vegetable broth
  • 250 g tomatoes
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 400 g potatoes
  • 1 bell pepper(s), red
  • 1 bell pepper(s), green
  • 4 tbsp tomato paste
  • salt and pepper
  • e.g. olive oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cut the pork into thin strips. Season with a little olive oil and the spice mix (for 500g of meat) as desired. Peel the potatoes and cut into small cubes. Clean the bell peppers and wash the tomatoes, then dice both as well. Brown the meat in a pan. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan, add the tomato paste and tomatoes, and sauté gently. Deglaze with the vegetable stock. Add the diced potatoes and bell peppers and cook for about 15 minutes. Drain the kidney beans and add them along with the fried gyro. Simmer everything together for another 5 minutes. Finally, season with salt and pepper. Serve with delicious ciabatta.
