Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 10 tbsp oil (olive oil)
  • 1 kg minced meat
  • 8 onions
  • 2 cans of tomatoes (800g)
  • 2 cans of corn
  • 2 cans of beans (chili beans)
  • 2 cans kidney beans
  • 4 chilies, dried
  • cumin
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • Cayenne pepper
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 3 bell peppers, colored
  • 1 liter meat broth

Heat the olive oil, fry the chilies for 2-3 minutes, then remove. Add the minced meat to the oil and fry for about 5 minutes, then add the sliced ​​onions and bell peppers and fry for another 5 minutes. Season generously with salt, pepper, and cumin. Add all the cans, draining the corn and kidney beans first. Press in the garlic and add more stock if needed. Simmer for a quarter of an hour. Season again with cayenne pepper and the other spices. Tip: If you want it spicier, add a little more sambal oelek or Tabasco. The stew can be easily varied with other vegetables. The cumin is essential in this recipe; it adds a special flavor.
