Ingredients
- 300 g Sliced gyros
- 2 tablespoon Tomato paste
- 150 Gamm Grated cheese (e.g. Gouda)
- 300 Milliliters Cream
- 1 Cup Basmati rice
- 1 teaspoon Olive oil
- 1 Knife point Salt, pepper, oregano
- 50 Milliliters Metaxa
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a pan. Add the gyros and fry for about 5-7 minutes. Then remove the meat from the pan.
- Brown the tomato paste very briefly in the same pan. Deglaze with the metaxa and the cream. Season to taste with the spices. Let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes.
- Put the gyros with the Metaxa cream sauce in a greased baking dish and put in the oven (200 ° C). After 10 minutes, sprinkle the casserole with the cheese and again in the oven for 10 minutes.
- Bring 2 cups of water with a little salt to a boil. Add 1 cup of rice and reduce the heat significantly. Stir the rice several times. It is even when the rice has absorbed the water. Of course, bag rice or flatbread is also possible. Bon Appetit 😉
