Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 230g haggis
  • 1 tbsp whiskey
  • 130 g breadcrumbs
  • 200 ml water
  • 60 g wheat flour
  • 1 egg(s)
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Rapeseed oil or frying fat
  • Salt
  • Paprika powder
  • chili powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 minute; Total time approx. 2 hours 11 minutes

Balls

Place the haggis and whiskey in a bowl, mix, and season to taste. Form into about 20 small balls, dust with a little flour, and chill in the refrigerator for about an hour. Mix the breadcrumbs with the flour, water, and egg, and season generously with salt, paprika, chili powder, etc. Coat the balls in the mixture, then roll in the breadcrumbs. Return to the refrigerator until firm again. Deep-fry in hot oil for about 30 seconds, until golden brown. Serve with a yogurt and garlic dip, curry ketchup, or something similar.
