Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 300 g bacon or Black Forest ham
- 150 g cheese (Swiss cheese)
- 3 eggs
- 1 pinch of salt
- 200 g flour
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 150 ml oil
- 150 ml milk

Cut the ham into strips and grate the cheese. You can also keep it simple and use diced ham and grated cheese. I prefer the ham strips in the cake, though. I also prefer bacon because it’s not as heavily seasoned. Beat the eggs with a pinch of salt until frothy. Mix the flour with the baking powder and stir in. Add the oil and milk. Finally, mix in the cheese and ham. Line a loaf pan with baking paper and pour in the batter. Bake for 45 minutes at 200°C (top/bottom heat) on the middle rack. This ham and cheese snack (ham cake) tastes better every day it’s allowed to marinate. It’s best to store it in the refrigerator.
