Ham and corn noodles

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g pasta (e.g. Mini Conchiglie Rigate or Mini Farfalle)
  • salt water
  • 200 g ham (back ham)
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 1 can corn (sweet corn)
  • 50 g butter
  • Parsley or mixed herbs
  • salt and pepper
  • Cayenne pepper
  • possibly grated cheese

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Finely dice the onion and fry in butter in a pan over medium heat until golden brown. Cook the pasta in salted water according to the package instructions. Dice the ham and add it to the pan with the onions. Drain the corn and mix it with the ham. Briefly cook the onion, ham, and corn mixture over low heat, season with salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. Stir in the parsley. Once the pasta is cooked, drain the salted water and add the onion, ham, and corn mixture to the pasta. Mix well and serve immediately. My husband loves it when the pasta is topped with cheese (he then briefly sprinkles his pasta plate with grated cheese and puts it in the microwave)—that’s a matter of taste; my figure and I prefer it this way.
