Ham and leek rolls

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 stalk(s) leeks
  • 16 slices of smoked ham
  • 8 slices of butter cheese
  • 200 g cream
  • 2 egg yolks
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Trim the leeks, removing the green parts, and cut a slit at the top of the leeks. Wash under running water. Halve the leeks crosswise and boil in plenty of water for about 10 minutes. Drain and let them drain. Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Grease a baking dish. Wrap each leek with two slices of ham and a slice of buttered cheese. Place them close together in the baking dish. Whisk the cream with the egg yolk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Pour over the ham and leek rolls. Bake in the hot oven for about 20 minutes, until the surface is medium brown. Serve with mashed potatoes and a fresh salad.
