Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 400 g fusilli
- 300 g meat sausage
- 1 onion(s), approx. 100 g
- 125 g dried meat
- 3 eggs
- 150 ml milk
- 1 pinch of salt
- ¼ nutmeg
- Margarine for the mold
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes
Dice the meat sausage into pieces approximately 1 cm x 0.5 cm in size. Dice the jerked meat, whisk together the eggs and milk. Grease an ovenproof casserole dish with margarine. Preheat oven to 180°C. Cook the pasta as directed. Brown the jerked meat and onions in a pan. When the onions are soft, add the meat sausage and fry lightly. Grate or sprinkle nutmeg and salt over the meat sausage mixture in the pan and stir to combine. Drain the pasta and mix with the meat sausage mixture. Pour the pasta/meat sausage mixture into the casserole dish. Whisk the eggs with the milk over the pasta in a spiral pattern. Place the casserole dish in the oven (middle rack) with the lid on for 30 minutes. Then bake uncovered for another 10 minutes to give the casserole a crispy crust. My kids love eating the ham, meat sausage and pasta casserole with ketchup.
