Ham in beer batter

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 slices of cooked ham, approx. 1.5 cm thick
  • ⅛ liter of beer
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • ½ lemon(s), the juice
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • Mustard
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 egg white
  • Flour, for turning
  • Fat, for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Combine lemon juice, salt, mustard, oil, and pepper and toss the ham in it. Combine the beer with a pinch of salt and the egg yolks, then stir in the flour. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold in. Coat the ham in flour and dip it in the beer batter. Fry in a deep fryer at 180°C (350°F), remove from the pan, and let drain.
