Harzer Tiramisu (based on Original Italian Recipe from Italian Living in Harz Mountains)

The perfect harzer tiramisu (based on original italian recipe from italian living in harz mountains) recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 12 Pc. Eggs
  • 500 g Mascarpone
  • 12 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 cl Marsala
  • 3 Ta Espresso
  • 400 g Shortbread
  1. Separate the fresh eggs. Beat the egg yolks with 6 tablespoons of sugar until stiff. Beat the egg whites (without sugar) until stiff. Then add the mascarpone and combine the egg yolk with the egg white by folding in. Finally, add a dash of Marsala or Amaretto. This gives the tiramisu the finishing touch.
  2. Now boil 3 large cups of espresso. Dip the shortbread biscuits in the espresso and place in the baking dish as the bottom layer. Then a layer of the mascarpone cream is applied. Then continue with the next layer of biscuits. Alternately pour biscuits and cream into the mold and finish with a thick layer of mascarpone. Place the tiramisu in the freezer for at least 6 hours or in the refrigerator for at least 12 hours.
  3. My tip: If you like a strong coffee taste, I recommend immersing the biscuit fully. Just dip one side of the biscuit for a light coffee flavor.
