Ingredients for 8 servings:
- 1 ½ kg Rösti, homemade
- 4 dl soup, homemade chicken cream soup (e.g. in my recipes)
- 500g sour cream
- 250 g strong cheese, grated (Emmental, Gruyère, Appenzeller)
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, pressed
- Salt
- Black pepper, freshly ground
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes
hashbrowns are American Rösti, recipe brought from Box R Ranch
Combine the cooled soup with the sour cream, cheese, onion, and garlic, then add the hash browns and mix well. Season generously with salt and pepper. Transfer everything to a buttered gratin dish and bake in the oven at 180°C for 45-60 minutes, until a nice crust forms. Alternatively, you can use cream of mushroom soup and, if you like, add diced bell peppers.
