  • Allspice
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • Sauce thickener, etc.

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Grandma’s recipe – from Silesia

Brown the minced meat with the onion until it crumbles. Season with salt, pepper, caraway seeds, and plenty of allspice. Allspice is essential for the typical flavor. Deglaze with the broth, add vinegar and sugar; you can add a little more to taste. Thicken with a dark sauce thickener; if you like, you can also use cornstarch or a roux. Simmer for about half an hour. Serve with sauerkraut and boiled potatoes.
