A study shows that those who regularly consume chamomile tea live longer. It also reduces the risk of civilization diseases.

Finally, women have an advantage: If older women regularly drink chamomile tea, for example from chamomile blossoms, they can extend their lives. They suffer less frequently from diseases of civilization, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, than people who don’t drink. For men, however, it doesn’t matter whether they drink a cup of tea more often.

Study proves that chamomile tea is healthy

A University of Texas study looked at the effects of chamomile tea on more than 1,600 women over a seven-year period. The result: an up to 29 percent lower risk of dying than non-tea drinkers.

Research: Reasons for the effects of chamomile tea still unclear

The researchers do not yet know the exact reasons behind this life-prolonging effect. However, individual studies show positive effects on various diseases.

According to this, chamomile, for example, can reduce elevated blood sugar levels. It has also been proven that chamomile tea can relieve nervous stomach problems. Chamomile is even said to lower high cholesterol levels, which can lead to heart attacks and strokes.

Chamomile also has an antioxidant effect. This means that free radicals can be rendered harmless. These free radicals are created, for example, by exposure to the sun or environmental toxins. You can change the cell structure. With the antioxidant effect, chamomile tea from chamomile flowers can protect the body cells. Chamomile tea can also reduce inflammation and bacterial contamination.
