Herb rice with tomato and mozzarella

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g rice
  • 8 large tomatoes
  • 1 cup crème fraîche with herbs
  • 1 pack of herbs, frozen 8-herb mixture
  • 3 balls of mozzarella
  • salt and pepper
  • e.g. garlic, fresh or powder
  • 200 g cooked ham, n. B.

as a main course or with pan-fried dishes

Cook the rice according to the package instructions, drain, and rinse well. Mix the crème fraîche with pepper, salt, and garlic to taste, then add the frozen herbs. Dice 2 balls of mozzarella and slice the other. Mix the cooked rice with the diced mozzarella and crème fraîche and place in a greased baking dish. Slice the tomatoes and place them on top of the rice. Place the sliced ​​mozzarella on top of the tomatoes. Bake at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 30 minutes. If I make this rice as a main course, I add 200g of diced cooked ham. It also tastes delicious with bratwurst or chops.
