Homemade jelly

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 6 sheets of gelatin
  • 500 ml fruit juice, clear, variety according to taste

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 minute; Total time approx. 1 day 21 minutes

Place the gelatin leaves in a large bowl of cold water for about 10 minutes. Make sure they don’t stick together. Then, without squeezing the gelatin too hard, place it in a saucepan. Gently heat the gelatin in the pan and melt while stirring constantly. Caution: The gelatin must not boil, otherwise it will not set properly after cooling. Now slowly add the juice while stirring constantly. Mix well until the gelatin is completely mixed with the juice, about 1-2 minutes. Finally, refrigerate the jelly overnight and enjoy the next day. Important information about the juice you use to make the jelly: The juice should always be slightly sweeter than you would drink it, as it loses its sweetness as it cools. Tip: Replace the gelatin with agar agar if you want it to be vegan. Follow the instructions on the package.
