Homemade mustard

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 80 g mustard seeds, yellow
  • 20 g mustard seeds, black
  • 8 tbsp water, cold
  • 6 tbsp vinegar (white wine vinegar)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Grind the mustard seeds as finely as possible. Place the ground mustard seeds in a bowl and mix with the water. Let the mixture swell for 10-15 minutes. Heat the vinegar with salt and sugar until dissolved. Then let it cool. Pour the liquid into the mustard mixture, stirring continuously with a hand mixer. Stir until the mustard is nice and smooth. Pour the mustard into small jars and seal tightly. Shelf life: approximately 3 months when refrigerated.
