Homemade Piri Piri sauce

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 bell pepper(s)
  • 5 chili pepper(s), red
  • 75 ml lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp vinegar, preferably red wine vinegar
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Wash the bell pepper and cut into strips. Wash the chilies and slice into rings. Heat both together with the lemon juice in a pan and simmer for 15 minutes. Add the vinegar, stir, and pour into a tall container. Purée the paste and add the olive oil. Season with salt. Transfer the piri-piri sauce to a (ketchup) bottle, screw-top jar, or glass jar.
